Is it really possible to get 6-pack abs?

There’s a huge myth out there about figuring out a way to get 6-pack abs.  Is it possible?  What does it take?

First off, disregard all the TV infomercials selling ab equipment.  The marketers behind these infomercials spend thousands of dollars perfecting the psychology of sales, so they can lure you into thinking that there equipment will work for you.  The bottom line is that it probably won’t work.

My mother even got suckered into purchasing an ab waste band that’s suppose to cut the fat from around her waste.  I asked her if she really thought a waste band would shrink the fat from around her waste, when she’s sitting at a whopping 41% body fat?  Sounds crazy, but people really buy into these products.

Here’s the deal? If you truly want 6-pack, ripped abs you need to spend more time figuring out what foods to eat.  85% of rock solid abs is diet.  You can do a 1000 sit ups per day, or even purchase 3 or 4 ab machines, if your body fat % isn’t fairly low, you will never get abs.  So, the 1st rule of thumb for rock solid abs is to cut the body fat.  Focus on a very high lean protein, low carb diet.  Bad carbohydrates, which is what most of us eat, tend to stick to your body and have a really hard time digesting.  It may take 1-2 days for your body to digest a bowl of mash potatoes.  Well if it takes that long for your food to digest, then what do you think happens when you pile more bad food into your body?

Here is what I’m eating to get ripped abs:

Breakfast = 1 protein shake + turkey sausage or turkey bacon

Snack = Protein bar + apple

Lunch = Bonesless, skinless chicken breast or turkey or fish/shrimp sandwich+ bowl of vegetables

Snack  = 1 protein shake

Dinner = Chicken breast salad
