P90X Diet – What is it?

Does the P90X program come with a diet plan?

Absolutely! But before we go any further, let’s just clarify, the P90X program offers a nutrition plan, NOT a diet(I hate the word diet!).

This meal plan isn’t about what you can’t eat, but more about what you need to eat to get the maximum benefits from all of your hard work. P90X isn’t just an exercise program, it’s a complete system that targets all the factors that contribute to a rock-solid and sleek body. In fact the workouts and the nutrition plan go hand in hand. The P90X Diet Plan is easy to follow because it’s broken down into different phases, each designed to complement specific parts of the workout.

Before getting started, you’ll be asked to calculate your nutrition level to find your individual recommended daily caloric intake, based on your level of activity and resting metabolic rate. Don’t worry, this parts easy, but it will give you a customized starting point! Then you’ll begin P90X’s exclusive three phase nutrition plan. Here’s how that works:

Phase 1: Fat Shredder

P90X shows you what you need to give your body all the high-protein foods it will need for the beginning of your workout. This diet is designed to both build muscle, but also burn amazing amounts of fat, that’s why it’s called the FAT SHREDDER!

During the Fat Shredder phase this is how your daily proportions should look:

  • 50% Protein
  • 30% Carbohydrates
  • 20% Fat

Phase 2: Energy Booster

By the middle of the program you are going to need an energy boost to keep your body performing at its peak. This is where P90X gives you a balanced mix of carbohydrates and protein, making it simple for you to get what your body needs most. This phase of the meal plan is also lower in fat for an added energy boost.

During the Energy Booster phase, your proportions should look similar to:

  • 40% Protein
  • 40% Carbohydrates
  • 20% Fat

Phase 3: Endurance Maximizer

Do you know how to create a complex mix of carbs, lean proteins and lower fat foods to give you the perfect balance of everything you need to get you in the best shape of your life? During these final weeks, it’s easy with the P90X nutrition plan. This precise mix will fuel you to get the most dramatic benefits from every workout.

During the Endurance Maximizer stage, your proportions should look similar to:

  • 20% Protein
  • 40% Carbohydrates
  • 20% Fat

Why does P90X comes with such a precise nutrition plan?

Because you’ll need to eat the right things at the right time to get the best results from your workouts. You’ll be enjoying healthy foods that taste great, even better these are real meals, not a bunch of lettuce on a plate. By following the meal plan you’ll actually notice an increase in energy and a decrease in your cravings for unhealthy foods.

And the P90X diet plan makes it easy to eat just the right foods, with meal plans and portion control options. And don’t worry about being told “No” to your favorite foods. If you like meats, eggs and cheese you’re in luck and the plans even give you suggestions for how to get your veggies without ever having to eat steamed broccoli!

The P90X diet program gives you great, mouth-watering recipes that you can be confident in knowing are giving you the precise fuel your body requires to get those ripped muscles and toned body. But you can also create your own meals with a handy caloric calculator that puts you in the driver’s seat. Sample grocery lists and supplement options give an added punch to the convenience factor.

I've already purchased p90X…about a year ago.  We had great success our first time using the program and wouldl ike to do it a second time now.  However, I am unable to locate our meal/diet guide and the schedule for the order that we complete each DVD.  I also saw on here the p90x Coach.  Would this be something that would be available to us evern though we've already purchased the program?

    THank you,

I think you mean 60% carbs in phase 3 unless it's not supposed to equal 100% :)
    Thanks for the tips!
